Ingrid Eva is an abstract artist practising in acrylic on canvas. She creates a texture underlay using modelling paste and structure gel, working the mediums with a palette knife to form flowing and erratic patterns that influence the direction of the paint that follows.
Using strong colours, many of Ingrid’s pieces lean towards nature-inspired shades such as blues and greens, though she often introduces pops of neon and gold leaf. Her technique is instinctive, painting quickly and intuitively, without a preconceived idea of her final composition. She builds the paints in layers, allowing brush marks and drips of paint to remain visible. Although her abstract work is entirely open to interpretation, it is largely inspired by the sea, sun, earth and horizon.
