A South Bristol-based, Anglo-Scandinavian artist with a focus on limited-edition landscape screenprints, inspired by her travels and walking adventures. Anna completed a Masters Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking at UWE in 2009 and now creates her screenprints at Spike Print Studio down by the floating harbour. She has recently shown her work at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and the Mall Gallery in London, the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath and Spike Island in Bristol.
Anna uses a combination of drawing, digital photography, and objects exposed directly onto screens to create her unique, textured prints. A fluid, process-led approach best suits her practice, where she tries to stay open-minded about how the finished work will look and allow the ‘unexpected’ to keep things fresh and exciting. Anna enjoys printing on many different substrates – textiles, ceramics and wallpaper as well as the more usual paper. She produced a series of textile prints a few years ago for a film directed by Kristin Scott Thomas, called ‘My Mother’s Wedding’, out on general release in the UK from this November. Anna spent last year working on a commission for Southmead Hospital, producing a series of new landscape prints and designing the external cladding for a large new building that is now open for orthopaedic operations.
