Kat Allen

Katherine Allen is a musician-turned-artist whose creative spirit has long sought expression through sound, image, and form. Though she came to painting only in recent years, her love for vintage objects, rustic textures, plants and flowers and antique aesthetics has quickly found a natural home on canvas.
Her work finds itself in the forgotten and the fading — dead flowers, timeworn vessels, and the warm, earthy hues of autumn are recurring motifs. With a simple, honest painting style, Katherine captures still life scenes that speak to the passage of time, memory, and the art of careful composition.
Years of working in a variety of creative projects led to a turning point during the lockdown, when she dived into painting and began exploring which soon became a dedicated practice, evolving into paintings that reflect harmony and rhythm through shape, shadow, and seasonal tone.
Occasionally, she branches out from still life to portray figures within intriguing compositional settings, always drawn to the emotional resonance of her subjects. Katherine’s work invites the viewer to slow down and find quiet beauty in simplicity, imperfection, and the natural world.
