A contemporary abstract painter based in Portishead, near Bristol.
After twenty-five years working in advertising and design, I now paint full-time— exploring colour, texture, and expressive mixed media through found and made collage, oil pastels, pencil, Posca pens, stencilling, and acrylic spray.
I am exhibiting here today, with several pieces from my latest series simply titled ‘Aer #1–6.’
These paintings take an abstract, aerial perspective on the evolving relationship between human activity and the natural world— where growth, erosion, fissures, and flaws intervene and leave marks, fractures, and patterns across the land.
My painted work is influenced by artists such as Kevin Krautgartner, Tom Hegen, and Edward Burtynsky, whose photographs explore the Anthropocene, humanity’s interaction, impact, and eventual stewardship of the planet.
