I have always ‘done’ art and studied Art and Drama in York wayback in the 1970s. but it was during Lockdown it became a much more central part of my life.
Since then I have enjoyed exhibiting with the Friends of RWA, Aga Kubish Gallery, Studio 3 Gallery and participate regularly in a range of local exhibitions. I am thrilled to be returning to North Street Gallery for a second time.
I work from ‘live’ (rather than photographic) material and use the subject matter as a reference point for departures from reality. Be it figurative, still life, the occasional landscape my work is characterised by its using strong colours and bold use of line. I enjoy working with music as a backdrop, usually Jazz, Rock or Soul, and like to capture mood and project energy.
I work mainly on paper using mixed media – acrylic, charcoal and pastel.
