As I’m now in my 81st year to Heaven – or the Other Place – I think I’ve just about managed to deal with oil bars, my preferred medium. I love them because in use they are full of surprises, and recommend them to any newcomers thinking of dipping their toes into the unpredictable art of making pictures. My subject matter is mostly semi-abstract landscape, usually with a lot of sky and water.
