Susie Brooks is an illustrator and printmaker based in Wiltshire and at Spike Print Studio in Bristol. Her work is based on places, maps and memories. Her process is entirely non-digital, made from hand-drawn dip pen ink drawings, layered onto screen printed colours from hand-cut paper stencils. Susie is firstly a draftsman, she came to printmaking as a way to bring her line drawings to life with colour. “I find the slow, thoughtful and physical process of printmaking both challenging and comforting. You can’t rush any stage of the process, and that slows down my decision making and keeps my mind focussed”
