A printmaker, mixed-media artist and photographer working out of Spike Print Studio and BV Studios in Bristol, Jonathan’s work includes screenprints, alternative-process photography, collage and acrylic painting.
Jonathan enjoys the expressive freedom of abstract monoprinting, often overlaying this with graphic elements in metallic foil. His screenprints often feature architecture and he has a particular love of brutalism and brutalist-adjacent buildings. He uses photographic emulsion extracted from Polaroids, reclaimed Polaroid negatives and cyanotpes (blueprints). Many of these techniques are combined in his mixed-media works on canvas which are inspired by his thoughts about personal experience and his place in the world. He loves gold!
