Fiona Hamilton is a Bristol based printmaker (MA Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking) exploring the ecological sublime and an appreciation of the majesty of nature. She aims to draw the viewer into an ethereal landscape that has an impact on our sense of place in relation to the natural world. She uses sublime themes including sense of scale, awe, height and an emotional connection to the subject matter.
This series of work came about from walks around Bristol and the local area, and features the mature trees of Greville Smyth Park, the historic harbourside cranes and seagulls, and the Victorian Clevedon Pier. An accomplished screen print artist, these works mix hand drawn stencils with photographic halftone imagery.
