I live close to the Somerset levels, south of Bristol and had a successful career as an architect, urban designer and masterplanner. I retired 10 years ago and now paint every day.
My previous work was figurative, but I now concentrate on abstract work related to space and place; the elements that create a place and how space can be defined. I work in three broad areas; abstract expressionism; abstraction related to places; and, more recently to abstraction related to places and people in my past life, which have a strong emotional connections.
My work is constantly evolving as I analyse the patterns, colours and shapes of the world around me to inform my work.
