Chiara Mensa is a Bristol-based printmaker whose linocut work is rooted in a deep appreciation for the natural world and the quiet act of observation. Her practice revolves around capturing the intricate details of animals, plants, and found objects—each piece serving as a record of careful looking and engagement with her surroundings. Working from her home studio, she carves and hand-prints each design, embracing the tactile quality and individuality that traditional printmaking brings.
Originally trained as an architect, Chiara is a self-taught printmaker who has been developing her practice since 2022. Her work has been exhibited in group shows in Bristol, exploring themes of nature, pollinators, and seasonal rituals. She is also a designer and workshop facilitator, hosting an ongoing series of beginner’s linoprinting workshops held in small groups in venues across Bristol (more info at https://chiaramensa.square.site/workshops).
