I create lightbox art using old 35mm slides with various coloured icons and was inspired during my time in the Royal Navy, serving in ships and submarines where natural light was often lacking. The lightboxes acted as an artistic centre piece as well as providing a soft light to counter SAD (Seasonal Affliction Disorder). The original pieces have long disintegrated thanks to one too many storm in the Bay of Biscay. I have recreated the lightboxes using modern materials which should serve as interesting focal points in a room.
