My artistic practice is centred primarily around the medium of graphite powder and pencil on Ampersand claybord, which combines the precision and reworkability of graphite art with the fluidity of painting. In terms of subject matter, I am frequently drawn to themes of environmentalism and in particular human-caused habitat loss. In the face of existential threats to our environment, equivalent existential emotions arise, and we can quickly find ourselves overwhelmed. My aim is to, at least partially, speak to these emotions with my art and offer people a space in which they can release some of the tension associated with climate change.
